Description The Cornish Rex is distinguished from other cat breeds by its exceptionally soft, wavy coat and specific type. Unexpectedly heavy and hot at the touch of the cat. All contours are smoothly curved
The head is relatively small, egg-shaped. It's a third longer than it is wide. The profile consists of two slightly convex arcs. The forehead is rounded, the transition to the nose is smooth or moderately marked. The muzzle in the area of the vibrissae pillows is marked, slightly tapering, rounded. In full face and profile, the head has slightly curved lines, giving it an oval shape. The nose is "Roman" with a hump, with a high back, its length is a third of the total length of the head. The tip of the nose and the chin are on the same vertical line. The cheekbones are high, not prominent, but raised, as if chiseled, the lips are dry, close to the gums. The chin is strong, well developed.
The eyes are medium to large in size, oval in shape, tilted slightly upward. The width of the full eye apart. The color should be clear, intense, and appropriate to the color of the coat.
The ears are placed so that they continue the lines of the wedge. Large, high and straight set, give the impression of alert.
Body and limbs Size from small to medium, long, not tube-shaped body, chest and flanks are muscular and heavy in proportion to the body. The breast bone is pronounced, forming a protruding keel. The back is naturally arched, the lower part of the body (the line of the abdomen and groin) follows the line of the curve of the back. The shoulders are well developed, the croup is rounded, muscular. The legs are very tall, slender. The thighs are muscular, heavy in proportion to the body. The cat looks tall-legged. The paws are elegant, almost oval.
The tail is long and thin, tapering evenly to the tip, very flexible and mobile.
The coat is short, soft, soft, silky, relatively thick and dense. It is devoid of the covering and coarse guard hair. It lies in uniform waves, tightly fitting, directed from the top of the head along the back, along the sides and thighs to the tip of the tail. The magnitude and depth of the waves are quite variable. The coat on the lower part of the neck, chest and abdomen is short and wavy.
